Many people are wondering if there is really a thousand dollar bill existing, or if one ever existed. And the truth to the matter is that this currency existed at one point in the United States. But during the year 1946, all the denominations greater than one hundred were not allowed to be printed anymore. All the thousand dollar bills printed up to this year were allowed to be in circulation up to the year 1969.

During the years that this denomination existed, it was stated that there were different types issued by the United States. In 1861 is the year the very first issue called Interest Bearing Note existed. On the other hand, the last type was issued during the year 1934 – Federal Reserve Note. Before the first issue of the thousand dollar bill existed, the only thing available for people’s use is bonds and not currencies.

Up to this point, even though these denominations are already out of circulation, there are still thousand dollar bills available. These preserved thousand dollar bills are usually sold commonly in websites online like eBay and the likes. Upon browsing to the bills sols, you will notice that the type which is usually sold is the Federal Reserve Note (FRN). The other types are still available but are harder to find due to the scarcity of the prints.

It’s nice to know that once these thousand dollar bills really existed and that up to now its presence is still valued by a lot of people in the United States.
